Account security
This article covers how Luminy protects your account, and what you can do on your side to keep it safe. For how we protect your financial data itself, see our Privacy Policy and Data Policy.
How Luminy protects your account
- Encryption in transit - everything sent between your device and our servers is encrypted.
- No stored bank credentials - you sign in to institutions through Plaid, so your bank username and password never reach Luminy.
- Strict access limits - only the parts of our team and partners that need to process data can access it.
Keep your account safe
A few habits go a long way:
- Use a strong, unique password that you don’t reuse on other services.
- Keep the email address on your account current - it’s how you recover access.
- Keep your device’s screen lock (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode) turned on.
- Sign out on devices you no longer use or share.
Change your password
- Open Luminy and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Security, then Change password.
- Enter your current password, then your new one, and save.
If you’ve forgotten your password, use Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we’ll email you a reset link.
If something looks wrong
- If you notice activity you don’t recognize, change your password right away.
- Then contact us using Contact us in the footer so we can look into it.
- Remember: Luminy is read-only. We never hold your money or execute trades, so linked accounts can’t be used to move funds from inside Luminy.
