How Luminy protects your data
This article gives you a plain-language overview of the safeguards around your financial data. For the complete picture of what we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep it, read our Privacy Policy and Data Policy.
What data Luminy handles
Luminy only works with data you choose to connect:
- Your profile details - name and email address.
- Balances, transactions, and holdings from the institutions you link.
- The insights the app derives from them, like spending analytics and cash flow.
Your bank credentials are never part of this - you sign in to institutions through our data partner, and Luminy never sees or stores your bank username or password.
Safeguards we use
- Industry-standard encryption in transit - data moving between your device, our servers, and our partners is encrypted.
- Strict access limits - only the parts of our team and partners that need to process data can access it.
- Read-only by design - Luminy is not a bank or broker. We never hold your money or execute trades, so your data can’t be used to move funds from inside Luminy.
You stay in control
- You choose which institutions and accounts to link - see Connect your first account.
- You can disconnect any account from the app whenever you want. It stops syncing immediately.
- You can export or delete your data yourself, right from the app - see Data deletion.
No system is perfect, and we don’t claim to be. But we take security seriously, and the full detail of how we collect, use, and keep information is in our Privacy Policy and Data Policy.
